Franchising

We provide due diligence and advice to franchisees buying a franchised business and entering into a franchise agreement.

Many small businesses commence as franchises, for example, Jim’s Mowing, Metropolitan Plumbing, Bakers Delight, Anytime Fitness, Aussie Pooch Mobile Dog Wash, Chem-Dry Australia to name a few.

These are often attractive and relatively inexpensive start-up business ventures but a prospective franchisee must be aware of their rights and obligations that come with buying into a franchise.

For example, if you are the franchisee then you will have very limited, if any, control over how the business is run since the rules and the template of the business are already established and your obligations as the franchisee are more than likely clearly (or worse) vaguely set out in the contract, also known as the franchise agreement.
